These projects span all lines of business within the business. These projects have dramatically increased and have led to pinch points in resources primarily affecting teams who support the voice and data network, perform Windows administration, Unix administration, Mid-Tier server teams (e.g. Citrix, AD, SMS, Exchange, etc), Storage, and IBM AS400 administration. There is currently no single view of all the impacts to the Infrastructure organization. Additionally, various "proof of concept" initiatives have begun and must stay focused in order to support architectural decisions. These efforts would benefit from the focus that a project or program manager would bring to the table. Engagement: This engagement is for an IT Program Manager who would also possess solid senior Project Management skills. The incumbent would possess a well-rounded knowledge of IT infrastructure, demonstrate exceptional communication skills, have ability to present themselves and their projects professionally in front of senior level leadership teams (director through VP), and have a track record of proven results whilst managing multiple priorities. Responsibilities (include, but not limited to the following): a.. Create and maintain a program view of all projects that require resources from IT Infrastructure. b.. Develop schedules and manage tasks, including maintaining schedules, project plans and milestones, coordinating tasks, and removal of roadblocks for the completion of various Proof of Concept projects. [The two current Proof of Concept projects with the highest priority currently are for collaboration tools and SSL access to the network. Different POCs may arise during the duration of this engagement.] c.. Provide support for smaller organic growth projects and the coordination of resources, especially as it relates to bringing focus, tracking progress, prioritizing tasks and removal of schedule road blocks. d.. Prepare, maintain and report status on the overall IT Infrastructure program. Maintain a release schedule requiring IT Infrastructure resources. e.. Project budget management, including cost tracking and labor/budget forecasting f.. Resource planning, project team member assignments and time reporting oversight g.. Actively identify, report, escalate and resolve risks and issues h.. Coordinate with IT PMO for project framework adherence i.. Participate in applicable project meetings and program activities Candidate Profile Required: a.. Sr. IT Project Manager and/or Program Manager, with 8+ years of IT project management experience a.. The ideal incumbent would have previously built and managed an overall program for a larger infrastructure organization. b.. Must be able to establish themselves as a credible resource who has above average knowledge of IT infrastructure without doing the work themselves. c.. Strong leadership skills, particularly as they apply to release management, program management and project management. d.. Demonstrated ability to balance the right PM practices and tools to deliver the required project and product deliverables. e.. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, aimed at Director and above, as well as locally within very small teams. f.. Strong Program Management abilities. The incumbent would ideally have started up a program where none had existed before. g.. Ability to effectively execute from a project plan that aligns multiple departments h.. Strong ability to set own priorities, deal with ambiguity in assignments, prototype iteratively and quickly, and deliver value without direct supervision. i.. Superior time management and organization skills to drive towards aggressive delivery targets. Must be able to produce extremely rapid results and be a self starter who relishes digging out details and presenting information based on their audience.
