Location: Pleasant Prairie, WI (near Chicago)

Duration: 6 – 12 months

They will be able to complete the majority of the assessments online, but
there are three tests they must complete onsite at client offices.

*GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: *

Looking for an engineer/developer, not a system administrator



*POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES / REQUIREMENTS:*

·         Maintain, enhance, and develop IBM i db2 databases

·         Develop and manage db2 for i database standards and practices

·         Work with the database review committee to drive legacy database
modernization efforts

·         Create indexing strategy and periodically review indexes for
tables

·         Experience managing database objects (Schemas, Views, Tables,
Stored Procedures, Triggers)

·         Work closely with application development teams to develop data
models that support business processes

·         Work with application development teams to ensure that database
changes adhere to best practices and are properly prioritized and scheduled.
·        Ensure proper change management is followed

·         5+ years experience working in an IT department as a
multi-platform database professional (administrator, designer, developer,
Architect). ·        Must have experience with IBM i, RPG and SQL

·         Hands-on programming experience with stored procedures, SQL, and
Triggers

·         Experience implementing databases using proper data modeling and
normalization principles.

·         Experience with ETL tools such as DTS/SSIS, Informatica, DataStage
a plus.

·         Experience with database performance analysis and tuning in an IBM
i environment

·         Willing to be part of DBA after hours on-call support

·         Experience in data replication is a big plus.

·         Knowledge of SQLServer and Oracle Applications database and
interfaces a big plus

·         Bachelor’s degree preferred



*"MUST HAVES": *

·         RPG background - needs to understand how it works and be able to
translate it to the newer technology (translate the logicals into SQL terms)
- not an RPG programmer

·         Ability to create data models - logical / physical

·         Experience with Native I/O & DDS and SQL I/O & DDL



 *"NICE TO HAVES": *

·         DB2/UDB LUW DBAs encouraged

·         Knowledge of SQLServer and Oracle Applications

·         Employed SQL-based techniques on the AS/400

·         Implementation of database indexing strategies
