Specific experience in migrating VB6 applications to VB.NET.Candidate will be akey contributor to designing, coding, testing, deploying, debugging and documenting the application migration. Expected to know and understand the complexities and dependencies in common VB6 to VB.Net migrations and provide leadership in those areas and insight in how to avoid common migration pitfalls. Also the ability to estimate work efforts and tasks for the migration process of the application. This short project if executed properly will lead to a long term project starting early January 2011. QUALIFICATIONS · At least 5+ year of overall software development experience using .NET framework · At least 3+ years of VB.NET development experience · At least 2 projects with references doing VB Migration to .NET · Ability to conduct application reviews and code analysis to provide accurate estimates and work efforts. · Ability to conduct analysis workshops with customer team to do discovery on business process and technical requirements. · Develop tasks and project plans and lead and direct development team · Provide guidance and recommendations on proper development methods and coding techniques. · Experience of migrating custom plug-ins and third part tools · Experience with developing application framework · Familiarity with developing database access code (Oracle) · Knowledge of latest .NET platform: ASP.NET, C# (3.5 or 4.0) including WCF and WF · Familiarity with full life cycle development of application · Ability to debug and troubleshoot technology problems rapidly and work with third party software.
