Michael, my browser timeout is set to 5 sec for test. while accessing http://munich.schwarz-interactive.de/default.aspx it returns null because your long running process takes 7 sec and the connection to the webserver is already aborted at 5th second.
if you set your long running method to run for morethan 30 sec you will see the effect in IE7. I think the default timeout period for IE7 is set to 30 sec.
