I believe this works AjaxPro.queue.abort; However I think it kills all request.
One other thing you could do is adjust the wait time for the ajax function. http://josephguadagno.net/Documents/Using_Ajax_Professional_Library.htm#_Toc138049176 I have a couple comments, You could do something similar using server side code using a global variable, however to keep on checking to see if it is OK seems like it would waste resources.
