It seems this issue is caused by the callback timeout. Currently the timeoutperiod is 10*1000 msec in core.ashx
timeoutPeriod: 10*1000, For a longer process on the service side like mine, the callback seems destroyed and as a result not invoked. I put the following line AjaxPro.timeoutPeriod=60*1000; // 1 minute after the ajax call. It has been good so far. It might be nicer to override the default timeout in the AjaxMethodAttribute for a long process. agree?
