Hi Brandon, many thanks for your your feedback.
performance is quite an issue, since we don't have invested now into big hardware but we will improve this issues with a cache functionality. If we get more positive feedback's we will needed extend like hardware etc.. its always a difference if you make a sample suggestion box with 100 listings or like in our case a bit more then 55'000 destinations. To prevent as much as possible non acceptable input we prevent currently a submit without selection from suggestion. We ensure here 2 issues, first we don't want to spam dozen of related Web-Sites with incorrect input from users then as result we will make requests to them and receive messages like: did you mean X, Y, or Z.... with some algorithms we get ability to gather information faster then what you can see in browser when you use travelocity's website... but its still not working 100%. the site itself supports fully drag-drop of elements but we didn't activate everything, because we didn't want users to get confused with functionality. While you click on listings they get orange and a pop-up should appears with additional information? we need to find a good solution how to ensure that users can really see the pop-ups and the info. How does this site behave with down level browsers? -> we have tested it with last 5 FireFox Version and with IE5, 5.5 and 6 Does it gracefully scale back to less scripts and whatnot or does it just not work in down level browsers? -> started to write a fully servers side solution for browser which not support scripting, but it takes some time until we will release it. If it does not work, is the user notified of this in some way or redirected appropriately? -> just after full server side option works. that helped very much and i hope some others will write us also some feed backs about it. many thanks again. kind regards, roni schuetz http://www.indexus.net/ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ajax.NET Professional" group.
