I think it would run into personal preference really. Ive never seen what html code was generated, but if your anyhting like me, I cant stand it when something generates code. It saves time, but more often then not, it creates bloated code which impacts performance. and Im all about performance! Now that being said performance may not be inhibited by using renderHtml, after all micheals wrapper is mystical magical and amazing. But, personally I would still build my own datagrid because it is more flexible, I can make it do what I want when i want it. This doesnt mean either way is better or worse.
