Hello all,
I am considering revising and reprinting the Amphibians of Alaska flashcard
series that NPS did in 2001. We've learned a lot about the species now and
I've put in for publication funding.
I am hoping for two things from this group - photos and reviewers.
I'd really like to replace the copyrighted photos in the document with
public domain photos or drawings. This would allow us to eventually publish
them through the Alaska Natural History Association who could potentially
sell them in visitor centers around the state (and possibly as a
fund-raiser for amphibian conservation, though I'm still trying to figure
out how that could work). Photo or drawing credit will be noted for the
photographer and/or agency if desired. These are the subjects needed:
Wood frog eggs
Wood frog tadpole
Western toad eggs
Spotted frog larvae
Spotted frog eggs
Spotted frog adult
Spotted frog adult bottom
Threat-displaying rough-skinned newt
Rough-skinned newt larvae or eggs
Northwestern salamander larvae
Northwestern salamander eggs
Long-toed salamander adult
Red-legged frog adult
Pacific chorus frog adult
Additionally, two or three reviewers are needed before the final edits are
completed. Please contact me if you are interested in helping out with this
project, or would like more information.
If you'd like to take a look at the flashcards, {Caution: this is a large
file (4.7MB)}
