Fellow Herpers, I understand that summer is a very busy time for all of us but I hope that you have been well since our last communication. In order to facilitate increased participation in our October 27th, 2012 meeting, the Alaska Herpetological Society (AHS) will be extending the deadline for abstracts and registration. The new deadline will be September 27th, 2012. I really do hope that this will encourage many of you to share your herpetological research in the state with other professionals and interested individuals. This is an excellent opportunity for collaborations and partnership building too! You can register today at http://www.akherpsociety.org/2012conference.htm.
Remember, the AHS meeting will be held in Anchorage, Juneau, and Fairbanks on all three of the University of Alaska campuses! You can join us via video conference from any of these locations and you can present from them too! Short talks on herpetological topics are also welcome, even if they do not fully comply with standard scientific investigation criteria. Please remember to submit your 2012 herping photos to our calendar contest! The website submission is located at: http://www.akherpsociety.org/ahsphotocontest.htm. Also, please look for our upcoming newsletter edition! On behalf of AHS, I want to thank you ahead of time for helping to make this conference and the organization a success. With gratitude, Joshua T.
