Dear hakkers, another year is nearing its close, and it has been a great year for Akka: we have seen enormous uptake in the industry, the clustering has matured, the Coursera course on Reactive Programming has introduced many new developers to our dear actor toolkit—40,000 students enrolled and the feedback for the Akka part was very positive. The next year will see some exciting additions with Akka Persistence, the integration of Spray as our HTTP layer, Java 8 and Reactive Streams (stay tuned for more news in January).
As the days in Sweden grow short, we all take a little break so that we come back refreshed in 2014. This means that the response time on the mailing lists may be a bit longer than usual throughout the upcoming two weeks. But I trust that this won’t stop you from hakking and helping each other out.
