You could use BoundedPriorityMailbox in your router. More info here<http://doc.akka.io/docs/akka/2.3.1/scala/mailboxes.html> .
Also, make sure that 'CANCEL REQUEST' message produces the same hash value for the hashing pool as the message you want to cancel.
