Hi Maatary, STM is considered as a failed experiment (see for example Microsoft’s reasoning <http://www.infoq.com/news/2010/05/STM-Dropped> for removing it from .Net) and it was never compatible with distributed computing, therefore we are concentrating on Akka’s core competence which is distribution—modeled by Actors. Agents are still there because they are a useful (local) abstraction, but keep in mind that they are neither resilient nor scalable.
