Are you sure that you use the "same" version for akka-persistence and akka-cluster-sharding? I would recommend that you pick one of the timestamped snapshots: http://repo.akka.io/snapshots/com/typesafe/akka/akka-actor_2.11/
Are you sure you need a snapshot and not 2.4-M2?
