I'd love a little more input on this, being a complete neophyte when it comes to Akka cluster.
To recap, let's call this entity ChannelMonitor. There are many many ChannelMonitors underneath a ChannelMonitorSupervisor. Currently, a message pertaining to a particular channel gets from the supervisor to the appropriate ChannelMonitors by being placed on an eventbus with LookupClassification. Each ChannelMonitor subscribes to this event bus. It seems to me that one appoach to clustering would be to shard the supervisors - i.e have several ChannelMonitorSupervisors per node/shard region, and retain the event-bus-based distribution to the ChannelMonitor children. Another would be to broadcast to all the ChannelMonitors and have them ignore messages for other channels, but that seems a bit hokey Another would be DistributedPubSub with a topic per channel, but since there is an open-ended number of channels, that doesn't feel right either. The ChannelMonitors are really the thing that there are lots of, and would correspond to a DDD aggregate root (I believe), and would be a persistent actor if I were using Akka persistence. Should I be considering DistributedPubSub with sendOneMessageToEachGroup and a custom routing logic? Thanks for any thoughts on this use case.
