For example in the following code:
val authData = AuthenticationData("user", "password", None)
val marshalledData: Future[MessageEntity] =
Marshal[AuthenticationData](authData).to[MessageEntity]
val unmarshalledData = marshalledData.flatMap{data: MessageEntity =>
Unmarshal(data).to[AuthenticationData]}
unmarshalling won't compile if there is no implicit materializer available.
