That's the use case - JSON text files containing a sequence of events are the desired output. Being able to use the same file format for both Akka persistence and the external analysis tools would be a bonus, plus not having to set up a RDBMS, or any other external data store for that matter, is important - ideally I'd just be able to distribute a single JAR file containing the simulator. I could embed Apache Derby and use that for persistence, but that's still really overkill.
