I am correct, try it out. We do something like this:

(done: ⇒ Unit): Unit = {
val durables = events map { e ⇒
DurableEvent(e).causedBy(cm)
}
if(durables.isEmpty) done else {
persistAll(durables)(applyEvent)
deferAsync()(_ ⇒ done)
}
}
