I already had the customised JSON error response mechanism in place so the only new bit was converting the Spray exceptions into those. Plus I couldn't see any way of getting the name of the field that was being deserialised just using the Akka-HTTP exception handling mechanism. But yes, starting from scratch it is probably a bit daunting.
