I tested Alchemi on a machine with no .NET 3.0 in more detail.
Manager fails when stopped ( you need to kill the process ). Executor also
fails when it tries to connect. I have a few ideas that could solve the
problem, but I would really like to know if you can at least start the
current version of manager on win2000.

On the long term I recommend building of non dedicated executor that uses
old WebServices for communication (as client). I think one of the bindings
of WCF is compatible with old WebServices. It would be easier to  run such
an executor on mono ( I do not know if current or any of the previous
versions of Alchemi worked on mono ) or win2003.
