As an alchemi developer/user I see a huge potential for alchemi platform. However, if we do not have commercial deployments it is because in majority we are developers not business people, maybe if someone (business man) takes the reins to bring alchemi into the market, alchemi as a product will be a reality.
Financial institutions like banks, brokers, etc can take benefit of alchemi straight away, such companies have huge numbers of pcs running windows that could be used for processing on the spare time. They have inumerous applications that takes so much time for running and Alchemi could be used to drop down this processing time. ExcelGrid is an example of plugin that running on alchemi framework could make spreadsheets calculations run much more faster. It is one example, there are tons of.
