Actually, I got it working. You need to set things to "mixed"
authentication mode, from the default of Windows authentication.
Within Microsoft SQL Server Management Console, for SQL Server 2005, right
click on the database server, go to "Properties", then click the "Security"
tab on the left, and select the "SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode"
radio button.
Alchemi DbSetup should then work correctly, assuming that there is a Login
defined for whatever user you are trying to log in, and assuming that that
user has the ability to create databases. In Server Roles for that user,
ensure that "dbcreator" is checked.
(Honestly, it's a bit too complicated for my liking, and I will be working
on some alternatives to simplify setup and installation.)
The procedure should be similar for SQL Server 2000.
