Hi Guys,
I have looked at your discussion about Multi-CPU server Executors.
I am running a 24 node grid. The PCs are new Core2Duo based Dells. I
am seeing the same sort of issues as described in the earlier posts.
I have changed the file "Alchemi.Executor.config.xml" to include the
following:
<NumberOfCpu>2</NumberOfCpu>
<NumberOfExecutors>2</NumberOfExecutors>
I also allowed Port 9002 (as well as 9001) to be used in the
firewall settings.
However, the Console program still shows the number of CPUs to be 1.
And jobs only utilise 50% of CPU on the Executor Node.
Is this because of the Core2Duo not appearing as a dual CPU or some
error on my part?
All help is very much appreciated.
Cheers
Richard

Hello,
I'm running Alchemi on a farm made of 4-CPUs servers.
When I launch the Executer on any of those server, only one CPU is
detected per server. When I start an application, every servers
execute
only one thread at a time.
I tried both the ExecutorService 1.0.6 and the ExecutorExec 1.0.6.
Should I write my own Executor application ? Or can I configure/modify
something directly ?

Hi Leborne,
If I remember correctly (there was a discussion about this on the list
a few
months ago), I think you just need to add a line to your
Alchemi.Executor.config.xml that has
<NumberOfCpu>4</NumberOfCpu>
Let me know if that doesn't work and I'll try to dig into the code to
see
what's going on there.
HTH,
-Matt

Hello,
This entry is available in the 1.0.5 config file. I switched to 1.0.5
and modified the file : my servers are now running 4 threads.
I haven't tried to replicate this configuration with the 1.0.6.
There is a doc file about it in the 1.0.5 source package (I had
download
only the installer and the SDK).
