Hello,

As an early Christmas present, I have now checked in my code for makeing
AC running inside Axiom. As the first step it compiles against libaxiom
(nearly) with the trunk code as it was.

There is some need for additional work in particular in connection with
output inside Axiom, but I want to leave something for Martin (who will
probably (have to) introduce "#if Axiom" statements inside the trunk code).

In Makefile.def there is a ToDo right after the flags for Axiom that
says something about how I currently believe AC should be made available
inside axiom.

Martin, now it is your turn to bring your axiom-port code into trunk
(you have free hands to commit to trunk -- but please update the
copyright messages per file so that they reflect who worked on which
file). For some things (in particular "coerce: % -> OutputForm") you
currently will have to introduce "#if Axiom" but otherwise try to avoid
#if Axiom stuff and rather contact me to find a solution without it.

Merry Christmas

Ralf
