This is an important point - in many cases the right way to fix these types
of problems is to not be a victim and to take the initiative to educate the
developers for the subproject that you depend on that an incompatible
change was made.

The person making this change to Ant was not aware that this change was not
backwards compatible when he made this change.  Someone even pointed out
that it would not be, but it was not until the actual failures were
produced that this was clear to all.

At this point, I think it would be fair to say that the Ant developers take
backwards compatibility very seriously and would be quite willing to work
with anybody affected by changes that they might make.

   someone from the Turbine team will help the Cocoon team by taking a look
