Hi all, Newbie here who is trying to 'get' Alexandria.
I'm looking for a software project management tool and I'm tryig to assess if alexandria is the right tool, or potentially an important component of that tool for me. I'd much appreciate any clarifications anybody can provide for me. From reading through the material, this is what my understanding of alexandria is... Alexandria is a tool to help automate the building of sources from 1 or more repositories. It also automates javadoc creation, running of regression tests and creates JXR files for source code 'exploration'. Alexandria is not really a project management software. It is more of an efficiency booster or a background processor. It reduces manual tasks, and it provides a continual feed-back and alert mechanism early on so that project members can detect their problems automatically. Alexandria is useful in an environment where multiple developers in possibly dispersed locations are commiting changes to a project on a continual basis. It lets everyone know about how the latest commits have affected the builds and the unit testing. Alexandria is only applicable to projects which are using java as a development language. It cannot perform its function for C/C++ code. Have i got the right picture? Thank you in advance for your time and any clarification you can offer me, -teep -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
