Sam, How about this for a better solution: I can generate a small build file along with the descriptor so that Gump doesn't need to use Maven at all. All I'm really interested is the build to check for backward compatiliby. I will be taking care of the nightlies and docs so the build file can be very simple, Maven doesn't have to be installed so that we eliminate the bootstrap problem and this will probably make integration easier. I don't know why this didn't occur to me earlier.
