More of a throw-away line, since I didn't have anybody in mind for
specific endearment.

Yup, good work when you can get it. Government work has been pretty
good for me, too.

Well, if taxes are the price we pay for a civil society, somebody has
to collect them. They, of course, are paid by the taxes they collect
on behalf of us all. Nothing warms cockerels of my heart more than
seeing the results of an audit for someone who thought they could get
away with not paying their fair share for the society in which they
live. It takes strong and competent people to collect taxes. Since
you're in the top quintile, and you do software engineering, I'd make
sure that all my 1099's were in order for the next few years. Uncle
Sugar and the state tax agencies want a piece of every revenue stream.
I know what twat means. What does "Jonesean" mean here as the
modifier.

I'm truly sorry about your medical condition. My grandfather had his
kidneys shut down, and was on dialysis for the rest of his life. He'd
caught yellow fever in New Guinea during WWII. I don't wish that
unpleasantness on anybody. So, is your medical coverage good? Or, is
it a government program? I'm guessing the former. How much did your
procedure cost? How much of it did you pay for?
