Just tell the parts guy you want a spark plug socket. They come with a
rubber cushion inside to prevent it twisting sideways and breaking the
porcelene top of the plug. You still need to make sure to support the pivot
point of the socket wrench as you pull on the end to prevent its twisting and
breaking the porceline. That is, push away with your left hand on the pivot
of the socket wrench as you pull toward you with your right hand.
Just make sure they do not give you the 5/8 inch size. Several years
ago, GM started using spark plugs that take a 5/8 size socket. That is not
what you want.
The parts guy will know. There are really only two sizes of spark plug
sockets in common use and 5/8 is not the one you want.

14mm x 3/4" reach plugs (standard in all Alfa I-4's I've ever dealt
with) take a 13/16" (hex) plug socket.
