I am cutting up a 69 Berlina this weekend. The car sat in a wooded area
in SW Missouri for many years. The rocker rust is part way up the doors. The
floor boards have gaping holes in them.
The means that mice have been in the seats. The upholstery is still
mostly there, but the stuffing has been drug out by the mice. The driver's
seat adjuster does move the back of the seat, but the chrome on the adjustor
is bad. The sun visors are all puffy looking. If you need seat frames and
such, they may be OK.
I have not pulled the seats out. I know the flat metal pans under the
seat cushions in the spiders rust out badly. I do not know about the Berlina
seats.
The chromed plastic of the inside door handles is rusty. This Berlina
has square door handle surrounds with the door lever in the middle. The
surrounds appear to be chrome plated plastic. The chrome is bad here and
everywhere inside the car.
I think that plastic parts were vaccum plated, like model car parts. They
are obviously not chrome plated in an electrosis tank like real chrome.
The dash and console appear surprisingly good. The dash does have one
major spilt through the dash vent on the passenger side. The guages and
console might be OK. There is surface rust on the surrounds for the tach and
speedometer.

About all that is good on this Berlina is the stainless steel trim
parts. I think the bumpers are spoken for. I never have had much success
removing the trim around the rain gutters. I might be able to cut the rain
gutters off with a saw Z all and get them off. Then detaching them would be
the buyers problem. But shipping such large unweildy parts that weigh next to
nothing would be very expensive.
The double brake boosters might be OK. I want the floor mounted pedals
with the clutch hydraulics, although the clutch master cylinder is mostly un
obtainable. I will try to save as many of the clutch and brake hydraulic
parts as I can.
The engine, transmission and drive shaft are gone. The front and rear
suspension is all there, but 1750 rear axles are not Limited Slip, so all
suspension will go to the crusher. Or I may pull it out to put under parts
cars.

I am also parting out 82, 83, 84 & 85 spiders. If someone wants to
convert an Alfa to L Jetronic injection, I can fix you up with all the parts,
computers and wiring.
I also have a 91 spider automatic that will become a race car with a 5
speed. I plan to sell the automatic with the driveshaft, the 3.50 (?) ratio
rear axle, the drive shaft, the shift linkage, the kick down linkage, etc.
Every think necessary to put an automatic in a Guilia Super if you are tired
of shifting in daily traffic.
I think the hole in the transmission tunnel may be in a different place
on the automatics. I will cut out that part and include it, if desired.
I might get the car running and drive it around the yard before taking it
apart to test the automatic.
I plan to keep all my Motronic injection computers and parts.

Ciao,
Russ Neely
