normal.it seems these oil senders are delicate.they become untrue very easily.mine has been as you describe for two years now.i have a new one but why bother.the test of oil pressure is to connect a mechanical gauge to where the oil sender is screwed in.when the car is at running temp. and at idle it should register at least 5psi.don't worry buddy it will.
