Hi folks,
You might want to contact Steve Patchin [email protected] He is our
resident 164 guru. He is ugly and crotchety but for some reason he loves them
164's. And once in a while he seems to know something about them. Lastly, he
is a friend of mine so don't tell him I said these things about him ;-)

Subject: [alfa] Alfa 164 alarm code (91-93 models)

Hi All,

Many years ago Al Porter posted this message on this forum:
"On alarm transmitters: mine didn't come with one (bought it used), and
most dealers said I was SOL unless I bought a new alarm system. Finally
found a service bulletin that tells you where to find the frequency code
and how to solder a new transmitter to match your code. E-mail me if you
want details"
I am in the same boat. According to the service bulletin that Al
refers to the code is provided on a sticker in the key fob and inside
the alarm ecu found in the left side of the trunk. I've found the ecu
sticker: it starts "300 MHz" and continues with 3 groups of alpha/
numeric numbers. Does anyone know how you interpret these numbers? Are
they hexadecimal? The first two do not make much sense but the third
does convert to a 6 digit number. Thanks in advance for any insight
for unraveling this. --Steven

Steven,

I recall seeing the code hand written on the underside of the receiver lid,
un-encrypted. You are making this too difficult, or the code is not there.
