on the subject  i took out an alternator from a 164 twinspark it has on it 80A
bosch 0120 485 024 kc14v 45-80A.anyone know why its 45-80A.does it give 45
minimum amp and 80A when its needed?

Sorry if I wasn't clear ... AL16X is the later internally regulated unit.
Direct bolt in for almost any Alfa originally equipped with an alternator.
