Biba,
The question asked was if the front fenders are adjustable. The fenders
are not adjustable, being weled at the factory.
The doors have some adjustment. If the door gaps are tight on one side
and wide on the other, then some adjustment with the door hinges is possible.
But if the whole body is bent, which is what I assumed, then only bending
the frame / chassis will correct the door gaps. The center may have sagged,
making all the door gaps tight. Or it may have gone the other way, opening
the door gaps all around and probably making the top hard to fasten.
The Duetto is 40 years old. Rust, accidents, etc. could make the body
very different shaped than when it left the factory. Then previous repairs
might have make the problems worse. So that is why I suggested a frame shop.

Ciao,
Russ Neely

West, methinks, for whatever reason, Russ is pulling your leg. That said, I've
not had a Duetto in the shop for eons, but have had a bunch of '69 Round-Tails
in and they're definitely adjustable. You'll have to remove the inside door
panels but the bolts are then easily accessible with a shortish extension on a
socket (13MM) wrench. This is of course for fore / aft. For in / out, loosen
the four bolts on the hinge. Worst scenario for adjusting fore / aft and you
can't adjust the door far enough back, put 'appropriate sized' washers on the
four bolts behind the hinge.

The doors themselves are very light, but the glass isn't. I sit on a low stool
and with a doubled up towel rest the door on my leg when loosening the bolts
and adjusting. It's definitely a trial and error project. And especially if
the doors have been damaged, it is frequently a compromise situation,
shut-line wise.
