Hi Shawn, Assuming your car has the original ignition setup, when's the last time you cleaned/replaced plugs/points/condenser/plug wires, etc.? Relatively cheap & easy stuff that you might consider replacing if it hasn't been done in a while, and the failure of those bits led to hard starting on my '77 spider.
Fouling plugs & hard starting also makes me think of a failing thermostatic actuator on your SPICA, but try the cheap stuff first! If you noticed high fuel consumption, or a lot of black smoke from your tailpipe, this might be something to look into. Just a couple of stabs in the dark at what your problem might be, usually these are solved by patiently stepping through your ignition & fuel systems.
