You do not absolutely have to have an acorn nut to atach the head. Run
down to your local hardware store and buy a 17 mm nut with the right pitch.
Then you can do the assembly. Before the engine is running, you might find
your missing nut.
I have give away or sold all my 1300 & 1600 engines, so
I cannot help you.
Ciao,
Russ Neely

Subject:
[alfa] One 1600 cyl head nut missing
I know it's around somewhere but I can't
find it. I have to say it's quite
depressing when everything is ready for
putting the newly redone head on (nice
work by Nick Falcone Ent. BTW) and you
comes up one head nut short. By chance
does anyone have an extra head nut that
they can part with? Unfortunately the
nuts on the 1600 engine are smaller than
on the 2L engines. Otherwise I'd be
OK, have a extra set of the 2L nuts. The
1600 head nuts are 17 mm. Reasonable
offers are welcome.
Happy Roads, Al
