Cats:

Doing some interior cleanup on my 74 GTV. I removed the dash to
get at some wires and cleanup/re-route them nicely. Found the vent
tubes to be really bad so I'm looking for replacement ideas - both for
the side and top vent tubes. That is the first part of the question.

But also looking for advice on the side vent felt riders. I don't know if
anyone has taken these vents apart, but I just did. I could feel some
loose felt inside there, so i wiggled it apart and this is what I found.

The vent sphere rides on two sets of felt strips. One on the inside
housing, and one on the outside housing. One of mine had half un
glued was flapping in the breeze. Everything is intact, but the part
that was flapping in the breeze is now expanded in thickness, not
nice and flat like the other one. Here is a picture of the pieces:

My first question is what kind of glue do I use to re-attach the strip.
Next question is does anyone think I should attempt to flatten the
felt more, like putting it in a vice with strips of wood on each side
and leave if for a few days? I'm concerned if I don't try to flatten it,
it may be too tight on re-assembly.

Thanks,
Stefano
