Thanks for the info. I have not yet gone into the evaporator section under the dash. My statement that the leak is in the Evap area was based on my "sniffer" showing increased leakage at the A/C outlet vents.
Where are you folks located? I have not found any Italian car oriented service providers in my area (Southwest Florida, I live in Punta Gorda, FL) The system does not discharge over night - takes at least a few weeks, probably more like a couple of months. I have not converted to "Freeze 12" yet, as I had purchased a case of R-12 cans before they were withdrawn (the frig on my boat used R-12 and I wanted to keep it going - still have a bout 6 cans left. Does "Freeze 12" work about as well as R-12, or is it either better or worse? The car as built only operates the electric cooling fan for the radiator and condenser when the A/C pressure gets up to some fairly high value. I intend to install some relays so that the fan runs any time the compressor is called for.
