Subject: [alfa] searching for original owner of the Alfa pickup ' Mr.Geller,
New Jersey?'"

"Hello, I am searching for the original owner of the Alfa Giulia Super that
has been converted (Mexico) to a pickup truck using the curved rear window."

"A long time ago, Mr. Geller had a website with racing information of this
converted pickup that I now call Alfamino. I believe it may have been called
Mortimer but I am not sure. There is an Australian Alfa publication that
would like to run a story on it and I only have the last nine years of
history on it."
------------------------------

As Brian pointed out, Mortimer was a GTV that I understand did an endo at the
end of a New England straightaway, whereupon the important bits were
transplanted to a red Berlina, Mortimer II. Norm Riffle bought it from Brian
years ago, removed the engine and sold it (Mortimer engine) to me along with
his '72 gold Berlina, "The General," which I rechristened Gort. Gort sits in
my garage now; one of those things you want to love but it seems to carry bad
ju-ju as one thing after another failed and wore me down. I'm back on it now,
maybe it will be back on the road this summer, when I have replaced the burnt
wires under the dash, the heater core and the wiper motor. It's potentially a
great Alfa...it IS a great Alfa with that big valve motor, Ingram high
performance pump and Merrit Cardin transmission, and surely after this fix it
will be OK for some time!

Mortimer II is now stored in a trailer on a farm, awaiting the day it can
emerge and resume activities.
