George, Brian, Ira and Alan have given you some good things to check for. If nothing turns up, circle back on the spark plug wires. I have a similar problem with my '95 318ti. I installed new plugs, checked the resistance of the wires (all within spec of 4kohm). But when I took it to a AAA diagnostic center, their analyzer pointed to bad wires even though the DC resistance was OK. I replaced the wires and the misfire disappeared.
