You can't go far wrong with a 91 Spider! Ask the man who owns one (better yet, ask the woman). But the early 70's (USA) series Spiders, like my lamented 71, I'm pretty sure had stainless steel bumpers for brightwork, riding on spindly, nearly useless fittings. BTW, a 91 also rides higher than a 71 due to later USA bumper height regs. The 71 was more willing and sprightly, but the 91 is cushier by far and, after only a few decades, they got just about all the bugs out of 'em. Also, you get 2 clocks (one can be set to local time, one to Milano time if you are romantic). And, of course, everything Russ said. I like the 91 spiders much more than the earlier L Jetronic spiders. The 91 has more power, better air conditioning and power steering. My wife likes the last part. And I think they are much better looking than any of the Alfas since the chrome bumpers went away after 1974. -- to be removed from alfa, see http://www.digest.net/bin/digest-subs.cgi or email "unsubscribe alfa" to [email protected]
