For a repaint, whether body or cladding, I would think the usual procedure
would be not to get the paint from Alfa but to rely on the color mixing system
of the painter. There are a few companies such as the well-regarded Akzo Nobel
or PPG that painters subscribe to. The companies deliver primary colors that
are mixed to replicate an exact color as specified by the factory's color code
as well as the year (colors with the same code often change a bit from year to
year).

The lower body cladding color on the S is different from the B/L. The color
would be called something like Grigio Scuro Metallico. I think there is a
reference to it in the 164 Digest Archives, along with its Alfa color code.

A few years ago I did a search for this color in the Akzo Nobel database. It
was not listed in the US database that was available online but I found it in
the database on its Swedish site (the company is based in Sweden). You should
be able to bring that recipe to any painter that uses the Akzo Nobel system and
he will be able to give you a perfect match, as determined by Akzo Nobel's
analyses of the paint used in 1991.
