It's been almost two weeks now since I got the poor Rust Rocket back on the road, so I figure I owe the ever-helpful digest an update.

I went ahead and put the cylinder head back on, having only repaired the broken rockers, even though two exhaust valves showed evidence that they might not seal properly anymore. It seems to run fine, and doesn't seem to be down on power or idle any rougher than it used to. HOWEVER, it's making a ticking sound, the periodic frequency of which seems too high to be anything in the valvetrain. Has anyone ever had a wrist pin damaged by piston-valve contact? Or a connecting rod bearing? Anything that would tick once per revolution??

So assuming the engine doesn't self-destruct in the near future, I'm still in the market for a driver's side exterior door handle.
