Don't know if there is a factory tool, but I made a tool for this job
years ago.
I took a 14mm wrench, and bent it into a 'U' to fit around the sending
unit. I then welded a nut and a short bolt with a nut on it into the
box end.
Slip the whole thing onto the sensor, then put a wrench on the end and
crack it lose.
Only problem, is now some of the replacement senders, have a different
size hex (17mm?) on them.
I can send a photo of the tool tomorrow if you like.
