Hi all,

Just back from a ten-week stay in Europe. It was a pleasure to see Alfas
everywhere on the road. Oddly, though, it was almost exclusively 146s, 147s,
157s and 159s (I think). I saw only two Mitos on the entire trip and only one
vintage Alfa, a bright red early 70s Spider with a few anachronistic additions
sitting on the street in Florence. Interestingly, it drew an admiring crowd. I
was not the only person to snap a few photos of it.

The rental car I got for the duration was a Mercedes B Class--perhaps the
stupidest gear shift placement I've ever seen in my life: There is a big hump
(a
storage compartment) in the console right where your elbow needs to be in order
to shift. What were they thinking?
