I swear by Valvoline SynPower full-synthetic 5W-40 for every engine of mine. It proved itself when we ran it in our Formula Ford when the block cracked and all coolant went west. Race completed with the car getting slower and slower but able to hold 2nd place for a podium finish. Stripdown shoed pistons were toast but big ends and crank were like new where they had been lubricated by the dry sump system.

Factory recommended 20w/50 in the summer, 10w/40 in the winter. bs -- to be removed from alfa, see http://www.digest.net/bin/digest-subs.cgi or email "unsubscribe alfa" to [email protected]
