Jon, Nothing special needed. I like Mann filters for my Alfa but somehow ended up with a bunch of Baldwin filters from Centerline. Cutting Fram filters apart for inspection caused me to stop using them years ago. I use NAPA gold or Autolite on the daily driver transportation appliances. I do use Castrol Syntech in the Alfa; I think it is semi synthetic. The previous owner was using it and I am against changing brands on an older engine unless I replace all of the seals. I still use Castrol GTX in my '85 Saab Turbo.... Everyone has a favorite but I think using the same brand and regular changes are the key.
