Dan, I think Eric and the others have given some pretty sound advice on troubleshooting the slow power window problem on your Spider. I have only two things to add:
1) Should you choose to pull off the door panel to look at the motor and cable, take good notes or pictures on how the cable winds around. That will help with reassembly. And you're probably going to need new panel grommets too! 2) If it is a bad window switch on the console, it's tough to find replacements. I called APE and they were all out of used ones. IAP didn't have any in stock and said they were out of production. Alfa Parts had a replacement toggle type, but not the original push buttons (that should be OK but might look a little incongruous with the other button switches on the console). I don't know about the other US parts suppliers, but I went to Chris at Highwood Alfa and he was able to provide me with a new unit. They aren't cheap. But if yours has lasted 22yrs, that's not too bad.
