My parked 88 Verde was seriously hit & totaled by a drunk driver. Dealing with his insurance company to get a true market value for this car is proving a little difficult.
Given the fact that +/- 900 Verdes were imported from 87 - 89 and that few exchange hands it is hard for the insurance company, or me for that matter, to find current sales information. WA state insurance laws only allow the insurance companies to use current sales information..NADA price guides or others are not used. Well, low and behold the insurance came up with a couple of obscure sales on Craiglists for $1500 and $2000. They are offering me $1800 for my car. Mine isn't a perfect example, but mechanically sound, straight, descent paint, slightly worn interior, and just a hint of rust under the back lights. 153K on the odo but the car runs smoothly.one of the quietest 12V V-6's you've ever heard. no valve noise. A good $5k - $6.5K example in my estimation. While I am researching the sales examples that were provided (to refute), I am also reaching out to the Alfa community to ask for anyone that has bought or sold a Verde within the last year, and would be willing to contact me directly via email so that I can collect information to provide to the insurance to gain appropriate value for my totaled car.
