On Jan. 6 I shared with you that I had to go to court in No. Virgina. In that
state, going faster than 20 mph above posted limit or faster than 80 mph is
considered a type of "reckless driving" even in the absence of aggravating
circumstances. Reckless driving is a misdemeanor and would stay on my record
forever.

I went to court today. Thanks to my lawyer the charge was reduced from
"reckless driving by speeding" to "speeding", i.e., I went from a misdemeanor
to a plain traffic infraction. Phew! I think the money for a lawyer was well
spent and recommend doing so if you are ever charged with a similar offense in
the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Thanks to everybody for their advice.
